In the first week of April 2024, the Aurin Girls’ Choir travelled to Spain to participate in the Catalonia International Easter Choir Festival. It is rare for us to organize a choir tour that so perfectly combines high-quality performances with such breathtaking destinations.

During the festival, we performed in three cities: Malgrat de Mar, Hostalric, and Calella. Each of our concerts took place in full churches, where we sang alongside choirs from different countries. The warm welcome we received from audiences at every location, and the atmosphere of camaraderie and openness among the participants, made the festival a truly memorable experience. We were especially thrilled to stay right by the sea in Malgrat de Mar – starting and ending each day with the sound of the waves was a real gift.

In Barcelona, we explored some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The majestic interior of the Sagrada Familia continues to surprise us every time we visit – especially since we had the chance to return after our tours in 2002 and 2008 and witness the remarkable progress. We also visited Park Güell and Tibidabo Hill, although the latter greeted us with a thick fog, hiding the otherwise breathtaking view. Of course, we didn’t miss Gaudí’s two most famous houses, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera), or the Columbus Monument, an important symbol of the city’s rich history.

Our journey included other special stops as well. On our way to Spain, we took a short walk through Monaco, taking in its elegance and unique atmosphere. The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres has become a tradition on our Spanish tours – it never fails to impress us with the genius of the master. We also visited the Montserrat monastery, perched in the mountains, offering serenity and stunning panoramic views that always leave a lasting impression.

On our return journey, we made a stop in Cannes, where we concluded the trip with a scenic walk along the famous seaside promenade and admired the iconic venue of the Cannes Film Festival.
