The Aurin Girls’ Choir has recently returned from a truly special journey to Paralia, Greece – a trip filled not only with music and competition but also countless unforgettable moments.
We set off on Monday morning, buzzing with excitement despite the long bus ride that awaited us. Around 3 PM, we arrived in Paralia, greeted by sunshine, the sea, and the beautiful Banbus Hotel, complete with a pool and balconies in every room. From the very beginning, we sensed that we were in for a magical week.

Tuesday was all about the sea and adventure. We set sail on a “pirate ship” cruise with breathtaking views of Mount Olympus. We stopped at a stunning beach with crystal-clear water where we swam and soaked in the surroundings. The highlight, however, was jumping into the sea straight from the boat – an experience we’ll never forget. Later that afternoon, we held a short rehearsal at the hotel and ended the day with a cheerful dinner, still buzzing from the day’s adventures.

Wednesday brought one of the most important moments of the week: the choir competition. After a final morning rehearsal and some rest, we headed to the Paralia VIP Club, a unique night club venue where the competition was held. We gave it our all, and winning our category proved that all the hard work had paid off. That evening, we celebrated our success with dinner and joyful conversations on the balconies.

Thursday was more relaxed – a full day at the beach. We swam, sunbathed, shopped, and enjoyed the serene atmosphere of the Greek seaside. Though Paralia may not be full of tourist sights, the sea and the beach more than made up for it. By the end of the day, we returned to the hotel feeling refreshed and content.

On Friday, the festival spirit was in full swing again. In the morning, we explored the town, bought souvenirs, and even ended up in a spontaneous street performance with another choir we bumped into. Tourists stopped to take pictures and videos, and we truly felt like stars. That afternoon, we rehearsed again before performing at the Grand Prize Competition. Though we didn’t take home the grand prize, our performance was electric, and singing for a full house was a powerful and unforgettable experience.

On Saturday morning, we said a bittersweet goodbye to Paralia and began our journey home. The bus was filled with a mix of exhaustion and happiness as we reminisced about the week’s memories. We arrived back in Kecskemét around 11 PM – tired, but with hearts full of joy.

This trip was about so much more than just a competition. It was a shared experience where hard work, laughter, and unforgettable moments came together in perfect harmony.
