2025 World Choir Festival – Hong Kong

The World Youth and Children Choral Artists’ Association (WYCCAA) will once again host its renowned choir festival in Hong Kong from 14 to 18 July 2025!

The 2025 World Choir Festival – Hong Kong is led by Artistic Director Prof. Leon Tong and Jury Chair Prof. CHAN Wing-wah. Among the distinguished international jury of more than 30 choral experts is our conductor, László Durányik.

The invited resident choirs include the Aurin Girls’ Choir (Hungary), the Inner Mongolia Youth Choir (China), The Resonanz Children’s Choir (Indonesia), and Zero 8 (Sweden).

Highlights of the festival include the International Choir Competition, “Starry” Concerts, interactive workshops, and masterclasses. The event is co-organised by the Hong Kong Chapter of the Chinese Musicians’ Association and China Music Education Magazine, published by the People’s Music Publishing House.

OPENING CONCERT OF THE 27TH INTERNATIONAL KODÁLY SYMPOSIUM

In 2025, the global music community will celebrate several major anniversaries in Kecskemét:

  • the 50th anniversary of the founding of the International Kodály Society,
  • the 50th anniversary of the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy,
  • the 150th anniversary of the Liszt Academy,
  • the 30th anniversary of the Foundation for the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét,
  • and the 75th anniversary of the Kodály School.

To honour these milestones, the 27th International Kodály Symposium will be held in a special format between 4–8 August 2025, celebrating the rich educational and artistic legacy of Zoltán Kodály.
The opening concert at the Kodály School will feature the Miraculum Children’s Choir and the Aurin Girls’ Choir, representing our choir family. On this distinguished occasion, the programme will include a selection of works by Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók.

A Journey Through Music History

The program features a selection of the most successful pieces from recent years, spanning Gregorian chant, Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic choral works, as well as 20th-century and contemporary compositions. The concert will conclude with lighter genres, including spirituals, African songs, and popular music arrangements – ensuring a rich and enjoyable musical experience.

Miraculum Concert Series

This 5-concert family season pass is primarily offered to members of the Miraculum Children’s Choir and the Aurin Girls Choir, as well as their families. Our concerts have a warm, intimate atmosphere, as performers share their personal experiences and reflections with the children between pieces.
